UPDATE 1/22/18 - We will be standing out on Wednesday 1/24/18
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Great to see Concord Teachers Association members advocating for the school budget that their students need. Today, at each building teachers stood out holding signs, even in the cold weather, to Support the Concord School Committee Budget!!
We hope residents will take the time to understand the impact of the budget cuts for the next school year by attending the School Committee coffees and Fincom (Finance Committee) meetings. The proposed School Budget for next year already includes $1,085,924 in cuts that will impact student learning.
To meet the Fincom requirements, the schools would need to cut an additional $592,000 from the budget. The further proposed cuts will be devastating to our schools and will definitely impact teaching and learning next year.
We urge parents and residents who agree with the Concord School Committee, to ask the Fincom to support the approved School Committee CPS Budget. The next Fincom meeting is 1/25/18.
We welcome any parents or residents who would like to stand out with us and teachers are happy work with parents on this issue. We will be out again on Tuesday! Hope for warm weather!
