✨ The Art of Becoming ✨

After six weeks of exploring poetry, visual arts, and social justice, our YDP summer cohort came together to celebrate their creativity, growth, and voices at their End of Cycle event.

Throughout the summer, participants reflected on their identities, their roots, and who they hope to become. They brought those reflections to life in original poetry books that capture the incredible work they completed during the program.

The books were available for purchase at the event, with all proceeds going directly to our youth. We are so proud of everything they created, as well as everything they are becoming. ❤️

You’re invited to our new Community Film Series: Tracing Memory Through Art at La CASA!

Over three Tuesday evenings, we will present documentary works by filmmaker Enrique Trigo Titó exploring art, family, memory, and cultural heritage through the work and creative world connected to Antonio Martorell.

The series is presented in connection with Entretelas, the inaugural exhibition in La CASA's Art Gallery. With the exhibition closing at the end of September, don’t miss this opportunity to experience Martorell’s work and continue exploring its themes through film.

Our screening schedule:

🎬 September 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Encajar en el Mundo — A documentary about the creation of Mundillo Nuestro, Antonio Martorell’s monumental theater curtain, made in collaboration with Las Borinquen Lacers.

🎬 September 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Álbum de Familia — A moving exploration of family photographs, personal archives, and inherited memory through drawing and collage.

🎬 September 22 at 6:30 p.m.
VII Bienal de San Juan del Grabado Latinoamericano y del Caribe — A look back at the landmark San Juan Biennial and the artists, printmaking traditions, and cultural exchange it brought together.

All screenings are free and open to the community.

⚾ An evening of connection, community, and a Red Sox win at Fenway!

IBA CEO Vanessa Calderón-Rosado, COO Mayra Negrón-Roche, and Operations Manager Janice Nevarez recently joined fellow nonprofit leaders for the Women in Nonprofit (WIN) Network’s Women’s Night at Fenway Park.

The evening brought together women leaders from across Massachusetts for meaningful conversation, relationship building, and a little baseball along the way.

Thank you to Bank of America, the Women's Foundation of Massachusetts, the Red Sox Foundation, and the Women in Nonprofit (WIN) Network Boston for creating spaces where women nonprofit leaders can connect, learn from one another, and strengthen the work happening across our communities. 💙

💛 Baila Por Venezuela made a real impact.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Baila Por Venezuela raised more than $5,000 for disaster relief efforts in Venezuela.

From the artists who donated their time and talent to everyone who showed up, danced, gave, and helped spread the word, this event was a powerful reminder of what can happen when our community comes together around a shared purpose.

A special thank you to Rumbaland for their collaboration in bringing this benefit to life, and to the Massachusetts United for Venezuela Fund, a statewide emergency relief effort launched by The Boston Foundation’s Latino Equity Fund, for helping ensure these contributions reach communities in need.

Thank you to everyone who made the day possible and helped turn music, culture, and solidarity into meaningful support. 🇻🇪❤️
