"Adela Penagos, president of admissions consulting firm Futuro Enlightened LLC in Boston, says schools do not require international students to fill out the FAFSA. She says the form is not intended to be used by schools for processing institutional aid to international students but for federal aid to U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens, such as lawful permanent residents."

International students can't apply for federal student aid, but U.S. universities may use other forms to determine financial need.

“Some of the schools that accept the GRE instead of the LSAT or GMAT are as highly selective as others that only accept the LSAT or GMAT. Selectivity does not seem to have any direct correlation to the type of test accepted to make an admissions decision. It seems that more schools are being open as to which tests they accept.”
