Maria joins us this week for our Gallery Assistant spotlight:
“Hi everyone! My name is Maria. I’m in my 4th year at UMass Boston majoring in studio Art and Latin American & translation studies. I was born and raised in Boston, specifically Allston/Brighton. Growing up in this area has inspired my love for music and visual art. I am mainly a painter now, but I’ve always enjoyed drawing, ceramics, fiber art, printmaking and exploring any mediums new to me.
I hope to showcase more student work, and more local artists of all ages that we’ve not yet shared, along with any opportunities and local organizing in support of artists and overall community efforts across the city. I look forward to engaging with everyone and hearing what you would like to see posted on here”

Maria’s paintings included here are:

1. “Lucidity”
2. “Na’ru Xut /La Casa del Jute”
3. “Chunche”
all works 2020, oil on canvas, 16 x 20 inches
