I think it’s fair to say the spirit was DEFINITELY in the building last week! Spirit Week at Nativity brought all the energy, from twin day and wacky outfits to friendly competitions during morning assembly all week long.
Huge shoutout to all of the faculty & staff who helped organize, lead, and support the week’s events. We had an amazing time making memories together! And congratulations to the 7th Grade Class of Ellacuría for being this year’s Spirit Week winners 🏆👏

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we’d like to highlight Ms. Castagno as the 2026 recipient of the Barbara Henry Courage In Teaching Award!
Named for Barbara Henry, a native of West Roxbury, MA, who bravely taught Ruby Bridges during school desegregation in Louisiana in 1960, this award honors educators who do what’s right for students, even when it isn’t easy.
Ms. Castagno leads with consistency, care, and a deep sense of responsibility to her students and their families. She shows up every day focused on what matters most, and her impact is felt across the entire school community.
We’re grateful for all she does and proud to see her recognized in this meaningful way. Congratulations, Ms. Castagno!

We are proud to congratulate Anthony Docanto, Class of Grande ’11, on his appointment as the new principal of Boston College High School. A dedicated educator and inspiring leader, Anthony began his career at Nativity as a teaching fellow and lead social studies teacher before joining the BC High community as a social studies teacher and Head of Pro House. His commitment to his students and his natural leadership led to his role as Vice Principal of Student Life, where he continued to foster a strong sense of community and guide young men in their growth. Today, he exemplifies the Jesuit value of being a man for others, and his impact on both his students and the broader educational community is truly remarkable. The Nativity community celebrates his many accomplishments and looks forward with great excitement to all he will achieve in his new role.
Anthony was the guest speaker at our Annual Promise Dinner in October, where he delivered a powerful and inspiring address reflecting on his journey from Nativity to educational leadership. As he shared in his remarks, “The greatest gift a school can give isn’t merely technical knowledge or providing opportunity. The greatest gift that this all-boys Catholic school in Jamaica Plain, where the boys wear a shirt and tie every day, gave me was the capacity to love.”
Congratulations, Anthony!

The ceremony also carries on a meaningful tradition, with soon to be graduating 8th graders presenting the ties to the next group of student leaders. Congratulations Class of Odhiambo!
