Carpenters Local 290 are proud to stand with Tom Suozzi as he kicks off his re-election campaign in New York’s Third Congressional District. Tom continues to be a tremendous friend to organized labor, especially the Carpenters union.

Our members know that elections are about showing up. We register. We organize. We campaign. And we vote. We make a difference, not just at the ballot box, but by standing together and making sure our voice is heard.

We’re proud to support candidates like Rep. Tom Suozzi who understand and care about our core issues: nasrcc.org/ISSUES

📚 Back to school is a time to think about what comes next.

For young adults who are exploring their options after high school, a career in the skilled trades can offer purpose, opportunity and a path to a rewarding future.

Help us get the word out about the benefits of a career as a union carpenter. From hands-on training and career growth to good wages, strong benefits, backed by a brotherhood, there’s a lot to build toward. 🛠️

Tomorrow, we celebrate Labor Day and the legacy of Peter J. McGuire, our union’s founder.

Peter J. McGuire, was an organizer. He spoke one-on-one to carpenters about their work and their working conditions. He instilled in them a belief that by working together, they could all do better. And they did.

What McGuire taught those carpenters is still true for every member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, from new apprentices to retired journey level carpenters. When we work together, we not only put up the tallest and the strongest structures, we build up each other.

As a union carpenter, you’re part of a proud tradition. Labor Day is more than a holiday for union carpenters, it’s part of our UBC story. Watch NASRCC EST Joe Byrne talks about Peter J. McGuire and the legacy of Labor Day.

144 years ago, our union’s founder, Peter McGuire, proposed the idea of Labor Day and educated, agitated, and organized to make it official. Today, we carry that proud tradition forward. We celebrate what we’ve built together, the victories we’ve won, the strength that unites us, and the vision we carry into the future.

This weekend, show your and honor the power of solidarity. Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend, brothers and sisters. You’ve earned it!💪💪
