It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our friend, brother, confidant, colleague, and partner in crime, Paul Blanchard, after a long and courageous battle.

As a Coordinator for the North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Fund, Paul dedicated his career to supporting and mentoring countless apprentices, members, and instructors. His passion for the trade, commitment to training, and unwavering support of those around him helped shape the future of our organization and the carpentry industry.

Paul was an incredibly important part of our family, and his presence, friendship, and spirit touched the lives of so many. He was always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh, and support those who needed him most. It is difficult to imagine a world without him in it.

While words cannot fully express the loss we feel, we take comfort in the memories, friendships, and lasting impact Paul leaves behind. His legacy will live on through the many lives he influenced throughout his career.

Please keep Paul's family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts as we navigate the days and weeks ahead.

Rest easy, Paul. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always a part of our family.

This Father's Day, we celebrate the hardworking fathers who build more than structures: you build strong families, strong communities, and a better future for the next generation. 💪

Today, we’re spotlighting father and son union carpenters: Matt and Lucas Pirraglia, who are proud members of Carpenters Local 330. They’ve had the unique opportunity of working together for Century Drywall at the Toll Gate High School project in Warwick, RI. Matt is a 27-year member of the union, while his son is a 3rd year apprentice.

Thank you both for your hard work, commitment, and dedication to your union. Enjoy Father’s Day weekend!👷🏼👷‍♂️🛠️

Building homes for Wounded Warriors 06/19/2026

Jared Allen's Homes For Wounded Warriors, the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, and general contractor Welliver, and other partners, are building the future mortgage-free, accessible home in Marion, NY, for wounded war veteran Private First Class and Purple Heart-Amputee Phile Bauer.

PFC Bauer enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 2002 and served as a Cavalry Scout with the 19D Cavalry Scouts. In November 2003, while traveling home on leave, the military helicopter transporting Bauer and approximately 30 others was struck by a missile and crashed more than 200 feet to the ground. Only 15 passengers survived, making it the largest loss of troops at the time.

As a result of the attack, Bauer sustained multiple life-altering injuries. He underwent 15 surgeries during his recovery and later made the difficult decision to retire from active duty to focus on rehabilitation and his family.

Currently living in a home not suited for his needs, Bauer looks forward to the accessibility, independence, and comfort his new JAH4WW home will provide. Designed specifically to meet his needs, the home will feature one-level living, widened doorways, and other adaptive features that will allow him to safely navigate daily life while providing space for his family, service animals, and hobbies.

After making the transition from teacher to union carpenter, Pedro Zhanay was looking for a way to better support his family and build a stronger future. Joining Carpenters Local Union 279 - Hudson Valley gave him that opportunity and, as he says, it "changed his life."

Today, as a fourth-year apprentice, Brother Pedro takes pride in helping build bridges and hospitals that serve his community while continuing to grow in his career.
