I am fervently passionate about World Ocean School. This organization impacted my life so profoundly that I have made my career about making transformative opportunities happen for as many people and kids as possible.
14 years ago, I spent my first Christmas holiday in St. Croix aboard Roseway and never could have imagined the life that has since unfolded. As Executive Director for the past 6.5 years, we have navigated hurricanes, the pandemic, and countless other challenges. I am proud that we have continued to innovate and build more impactful programs through all of that. Today, students from Boston, Milwaukee, New York, and St. Croix (all receiving full scholarships to participate) have been wrapping up a voyage together throughout the USVI over the past week— our inaugural Winter Ambassador Program built off our love of our Summer Ambassador Program https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45tsuEpMHKw This experience is so unusual and powerful that it will be with them forever. “If I can do this, I can do anything!”

One final image for awhile from the Sail Portsmouth 2019. It was so amazing to be near the back of the parade. The sun was setting and the air was filled with a haze causing a beautiful golden glow. My approach to the event was try and put myself back to a time when sails were a fixture of the seacoast. Seeing the United States Coast Guard Barque EAGLE, Tall Ship Lynx, Schooner Roseway and the Piscataqua from Gundalow Company sailing upriver sure put a smile on my face.
