This May, we’re honoring the vibrant histories and leadership of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. 🌟

At the Massachusetts Immigrant Collaborative, we believe our neighborhoods are at their best when every voice is heard and every culture is celebrated. Join us in recognizing the neighbors, organizers, and families who help our community thrive.

In 2025, MIC and our dedicated partners served over 800 families at no cost, providing vital legal representation for complex cases like VAWA and U Visas.

From protecting survivors of violence to helping individuals like "Valentina" pursue their dreams, our mission remains focused on dignity and empowerment. As we share our 2025 Year in Review, we remain committed to ensuring every immigrant in Massachusetts has access to the legal guidance they deserve.

The MIC team was glad to support the MIRA: Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, Inc. at their 30th annual Give Liberty a Hand gala last Wednesday. We are proud to stand with MIRA to support immigrant and refugee communities across Massachusetts. Executive Director Frank DeVito and new Development Director Noel Rubio attended the event alongside MIC Board Members Lenita Reason (Executive Director of the Brazilian Worker Center) and Patricia Sobalvarro (Executive Director of Agencia ALPHA). Thank you, MIRA, for a wonderful evening and for all that you do.

On May 7th, the Massachusetts Senate voted in favor (37-3) of the PROTECT Act! This follows the House vote in March for this transformative legislation, which includes crucial guardrails to protect our communities from ICE. Both bills now move to the conference committee, which will negotiate the final bill for passage.

Please use our easy click-to-email tool to thank your Senator for their historic vote in favor of the PROTECT Act, S.3072, and ask for their continued support in the legislative process. This bill would establish important limits on state and local collaboration with ICE, including a ban on new 287(g) agreements with all law enforcement agencies and prohibiting law enforcement from asking about immigration status.
