"When I was studying abroad in Germany, I interacted with refugees and immigrants on a daily basis. In my interactions with them, I noticed that there was one thing that connected all of us: we all just want a normal life where we can pursue our vested interests and succeed in life. Although there were people supporting them through the process of entering Germany and assimilating into the culture, there were certain individuals who continued to discourage society from providing help to them in any sense of the word. As we continue into the future, we need to understand what connects us as human beings and how to succeed together. The One BU Charity Gala, on April 8th from 8 PM -11PM, in Metcalf Ballroom, is the first annual attempt to bring together as many student groups as possible to advocate for specific issues that Boston University Students are passionate about. This year we’ll be raising awareness about issues revolving around women’s health, immigration, and living with disabilities. We’re proud to be bringing awareness to the work of Planned Parenthood, Student Immigrant Movement, and Adaptive Sports New England. The event is free for BU students so we hope you’ll join us and make a small donation if you can.

Congrats to Brother Vignesh Chari Supernova 757 on growing his hair out 9 inches in 1 year to donate! His hair will be going to Pantene Beautiful Lengths for cancer patients and Matter of Trust for cleaning up oil spills with loose hair!

A very hearty congratulations to Beastly Boston's very own Brother Harjaap Singh Arcane 32 on getting into Tufts Dental School! We are incredibly proud of all that you have done and look forward to all that you will achieve in the future!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Brother, Arvin Batra, this past weekend. As evidenced by the outpouring of grief from his passing, Arvin truly was a remarkable individual. He was charismatic, ambitious, intelligent, and had a work ethic second to none. At only 21, he was already a successful entrepreneur with various business interests ranging from nightlife to clothing. Above all, Arvin was truly a big-hearted friend and brother. Indeed, to take a line from Sen. Ted Kennedy, "He had every gift but length of years."

Arvin, in many ways, represented the best that our brotherhood had to offer, and will be truly missed. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. In these difficult times, we take solace in the fact that his memory lives on through the love of those who knew him. And we have a strong feeling that when we reach the pearly gates, we'll once again be dropping Arvin's name at the door.

On what is supposed to be a happy occasion it saddens us to inform you all of the passing of one of our own, Brother Arvin Batra. Arvin was a man of infinite drive, and infinite compassion for those around him. We salute him for everything he has accomplished in his short time on Earth and take solace in that he may finally rest. The Brothers of Iota Nu Delta would like to extend our most sincere condolences out to the family of our fallen Brother.
