☀️ Upcoming Summer Short Course: Sustainable Fashion: Design, Impact, and Practice
🌊 7 sessions | Wednesdays, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM | Part 1: June 06 to June 24th, Part 2: July 15th to August 5th
♻ Designed for fashion students, emerging designers, and creatives seeking a structured and accessible introduction to sustainability in apparel design. This short course explores sustainability across the full lifecycle of a garment—from design and production through distribution, use, and reuse. Each session builds progressively, reinforcing learning through applied exercises and collaborative discussion.
🧵About the Instructor: Michelle Dunn is an experienced technical design and product management leader specializing in sustainable fashion, technical garment development, and cross-functional ex*****on. With over a decade of industry experience, Michelle has contributed to impactful initiatives at companies such as Obermeyer, Misha and Puff, and Charles River Apparel. She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Design and Strategic Management. Her work focuses on translating sustainability concepts into practical, real-world design and production strategies, with an emphasis on applied learning and creative problem-solving.

✳ Couture Detail: The final project is to upcycle an iconic piece of clothing, the Little Black Dress. Students take a second hand or thrifted black dress and embellish it, or create a single new dress from multiple thrifted dresses. Three Couture Detail techniques are required on each dress.
