Thrilled at the opportunity to serve & to continue to learn from some of the best minds in the business!

————————————

We are excited to announce that Kate Donaghey, our former Executive Vice President of Policy, is the new Executive Director of LearnLaunch. Governor Jane Swift will move from serving as the Executive Director and President to a role as a Senior Advisor and President.

Under Jane’s guidance and leadership, we adapted throughout the challenges of the pandemic and reimagined our role in the New England innovation ecosystem. We have served school and district leaders over the past few years with insight and capability in public policy, education innovation, and technology. Jane’s mission-driven approach to the work and her innovative and creative leadership enabled us to provide technical assistance, professional learning, and coaching support to school, district, and state leaders as the COVID emergency upended our schools. We cannot thank her enough for her clear and steady management and her commitment to working towards equity in our schools. Thank you, Jane.

Kate is well-primed to step into the leadership role for LearnLaunch at this moment. She will draw on her nearly 20 years of experience in education policy at the federal and state levels. Over the past year, she has been a capable and determined leader within LearnLaunch and led the team to unprecedented success culminating at the 2021 K-12 Innovation Summit at Fenway. As the organization continues to engage in direct service work, Kate’s enthusiasm, skills, and insights will take LearnLaunch to the next level.

In the United States, one in five students learn differently. At our K-12 Innovation Summit on June 23, join the discussion with three entrepreneurs who are upending long-held classroom practices that impact those students from their earliest years and throughout their academic and self-advocacy journeys. Technology is being deployed that uses gamified apps to replace traditional reading assessments and eliminate dyslexia before it is ever diagnosed; to radically reduce administrative and compliance work that pulls teachers away from teaching; and to create a community of peer-to-peer coaching that promotes self-advocacy. Together, our panelists illustrate the exponential impact that the innovation mindset can have on identifying and meeting the needs of all students, including those with special needs.
