Women’s Equality Day commemorates the certification of the 19th Amendment on August 26, 1920, a landmark in the long fight for women’s right to vote. While a powerful step forward, it was not the end of the journey; securing equal rights and full participation for all women continues today.

At Simmons, that pursuit is deeply tied to who we are. For generations, Simmons alumnae/i have broken barriers, expanded opportunities, and used their leadership to drive meaningful change in their communities and professions.

Today, we honor the trailblazers who paved the way—and the leaders continuing the work.

How are you advancing equality in your community? Share your story below.

Meet the Coach: Rowing Coach Linda Muri

We’re excited to invite you to a virtual “Meet the Coach” event! This will be a wonderful opportunity for rowing alumnae/i to reconnect with the program, meet our coach, and hear about the team’s vision and goals for the upcoming season.

We’ll hear from three-time world champion Coach Linda Muri about her approach to developing student-athletes, building the team, and what’s ahead for Simmons rowing. We’ll also leave time for questions and conversation.

Whether you rowed last year or many years ago, we’d love to have you join us and stay connected to the Sharks rowing community. Your support and involvement mean a great deal to the program, and we hope you’ll take this opportunity to meet the coach and hear about what’s in store.

Congratulations to Regina Marshall '98, who recently became CEO of Advocates, Inc., one of Massachusetts' largest providers of behavioral health and human services.

Regina's leadership journey has deep roots at Simmons. As class president and later president of the Student Government Association, she gained early experience navigating leadership spaces, making difficult decisions, and finding her voice.

“I could be the leader I wanted to be, and it launched me into the rest of my career,” she says of her Simmons experience.

Today, Regina draws on those lessons as she leads an organization serving thousands of individuals and families across Massachusetts—and she hopes to give back by connecting with current Simmons students as a mentor and speaker.

Because of you, Simmons is stronger than ever.

This fiscal year, our community invested in the future of Simmons through generosity, connection, and service.

Your gifts expanded scholarships, supported exceptional faculty, enriched student life, and provided the flexible funding that allows Simmons to innovate and respond to emerging opportunities.

Just as importantly, volunteers shared their time and talents, and thousands of alumnae/i, students, families, and friends strengthened our community by participating in events throughout the year.

Every gift, every volunteer, every event attended, and every connection made helps prepare the next generation of courageous leaders who will improve lives and change the world.

Thank you for making this extraordinary year possible. We are grateful to have you as part of the Simmons community.
