UMASS Boston Students for Justice in Palestine

Since we do not have capacity to escalate on our campus we are directing manpower and resources to the currently active encampments. Tufts, Northeastern, Emerson, Harvard and MIT all need support in a multitude of ways. Big asks: Include community showing up to prevent police escalation and ALL EYES ON PALESTINE. We are closer than ever to a FREE PALESTINE. 🇵🇸❤️🇵🇸

Our faculty will be hosting some educational events Feb 20th and March 5th respectively. We will also be supporting our comrades at MIT, Harvard, Brandeis and other universities as they face mounting repression and suspensions. Please look out for emails later this week for more information on a special event we will be holding to address Chancellor Suarez’s silence.

Salam and Peace yall! We will be hosting a temporary installation Jan 25 from 12-4pm (tomorrow!) on the CC Lawn. If you would like to volunteer, show support or just stop by please feel free to. This action is in response to the Global Strike issued by . This rally will also go over how to materially support the cause and highlight the increasing harassment students have been facing for standing up for Palestinian rights. We hope that this visual representation of the refugee status of Gazans can strike a chord with our diverse community and student body many of whom have experienced food insecurity and homelessness themselves. Unfortunately our Faculty chapters teach in has been postponed. We will be holding Study ins 12-5 Monday in Campus Center. Please bring study materials, notes, friends, keffiyehs and any other signs of visible support. Due to University policy we cannot hold protests inside Campus Center so we are taking a note from our comrades at Harvard. “How does one use a space “normally” during genocide? What is ‘normal’ about genocide?”

We condemn the conflation of anti-zionism and antisemitism. It is extremely dangerous to do so and puts our Jewish and anti-zionist members and allies in jeopardy.

Please join us for a memorial service in honor of our martyrs. We encourage folks to bring flowers, written notes, candles and prayers. We will have some speakers and will be reading Janazah for all of those lost. Please also wear your Keffiyehs even if you cannot attend as a show of solidarity.

UMB! Express your support for Palestinian students, faculty, and especially the people of Gaza this WEDNESDAY at 11 on the CAMPUS CENTER LAWN.

This is in following with the call for a national student walkout on 10/25, to demand an end to the siege on Gaza and to demand our universities divest from weapons manufacturers that make deals with the Zionist entity.

We'll have some speakers make our demands and march through UMass Boston. But we're also looking for more speakers, particularly Palestinian speakers, so if you're interested in having your voice heard, let us know!

While we may not be officially active this semester we would like to shout-out our staff and faculty justice for Palestine chapter. They are a hardworking dedicated group of Palestinian faculty as well as allies who host events on Campus for other faculty as well as researchers and students.
