A newly discovered snake-tail mantis is turning heads in Sardinia with a courtship dance that mimics the coils and flicks of a snake—an artful move males use to avoid becoming a post-mating snack. This unusual display not only helped scientists recognize the new species but also hints at how much of mantis behavior remains unseen.
