Now is not the time to relax. The need for critical PPE in the form of face shields is far from over. As the nation begins to re-open, the number of COVID-19 cases is going to spike again. We need your help. Please consider donating to help our frontline workers. Doctors, nurses, hospital staff, first responders, grocery and delivery workers. We are all in this together.

Hello!

As some of you know we recently announced a donation of 4,000kg of PLA filament to produce critically needed PPE's for healthcare workers.

That's enough PLA to print over 115,000 Prusa face shields.

All of that material has been allocated and now we are looking to donate more PLA as the need is still urgent.

We have set up a Go Fund Me for this effort. If you cannot donate at this time, please share with your network via email or on social media:

100% of the PLA produced with this fund will be donated to the makerspaces, Fab Labs, and service bureau's that are already producing tens of thousands of face shields and other PPE's.

Every dollar donated will go towards making more filament. This allows us to continue to provide the 3D Printing community with the material they need to resume, without interruption, the making of critical face shields for the medical staff, hospitals, first responders, and all other essential workers.

Tangible CreativeCreative, which has 100 3D printers at its warehouse in Newark, New Jersey, has partnered with Brooklyn-based competitor MakerBot and Columbia University in the City of New York to create a coalition called the Covid Makers Response. The group is currently printing roughly 2,000 face shields a day, which volunteers pick up and drop off at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan. They are then assembled and sent to more than 30 hospitals in the area.
"It was like a war effort," said Tangible's co-founder and CEO Nevaris A.C.

As frontline workers and hospitals struggle to get access to enough medical equipment to deal with the rapid spread of coronavirus, a growing number of businesses are pushing what could be a promising fix: 3D-printed supplies.
