With honorary doctorate recipient Vinnie Colaiuta in the audience, graduating pianist Omarito performs Gary Husband’s “City Nights” at the Berklee Commencement Concert, paying homage to Colaiuta’s mind-bending drumming on legendary guitarist Allan Holdsworth’s beloved trio recording on Secrets. Originally conceived by Husband on keyboards, Omarito returns ‘City Nights” to its keyboard roots. 🎓🎹🥁

In the presence of esteemed honorary doctorate recipient Vinnie Colaiuta, graduating drummer Yukai Yang performs Sammy Nestico’s “Ya Gotta Try” at the Berklee Commencement Concert. The performance pays homage to Colaiuta’s iconic 1989 rendition with The Buddy Rich Big Band at The Buddy Rich Memorial Scholarship Concert. 🎓🥁🎼
