Last week, Anthony Buono (CAS '22, GRS '22) won election to the Brookline Select Board, the town’s highest elected executive body. As a graduate of the BA/MA program in Mathematics & Statistics, Anthony brings his unique and quantitative lens to local governance and advocacy.
We are excited to see how Anthony continues putting data-driven leadership into action as he helps shape Brookline’s future!

Last Friday, Prof. Ian Tobasco presented at the 15th annual Marvin I. Freedman Memorial Colloquium. His presentation, "The Physics and Geometry of Thin Elastic Sheets" explored the nature of elastic materials through mathematics and physics. From origami to planes, Prof. Tobasco explains the intricacies of materials all around us. ➕🌏📊
The Marvin I. Freedman Memorial Colloquium was established to honor and remember our friend and colleague, Marvin I. Freedman of the Mathematics & Statistics Department of Boston University.
