Learning a lot about the gender politics of the 2016 race, watching Biden overperform HRC across the board.
So...on the one hand, 97% of the tallied votes in North Carolina are early ballots, so maybe Biden’s lead will be diminished as the rest of the state is counted. On the other hand, if this is reflective of who voted early, this could be very good news for Biden in Texas and Georgia.

Although ballots are never fully counted on election night, we can usually put our head to the pillow knowing who the next president will be. This year, it’s likely tha...

Today, we will be honoring two more graduates from Simmons University. Today's graduate is Kathleen Tajmajer.
Kathleen, originally from New Haven, CT, is graduating with a double major in International Relations and Economics at Simmons University.
During her time at Simmons, Kathleen studied abroad in Durban, South Africa, where she studied post-Apartheid policy and reconcilliation. In Durban, she interned at ACCORD, a South African think tank partnered with the United Nations which focuses on implementing peacebuilding and conflict resolution practices in African states. Kathleen was inspired by her homestay experiences abroad to examine economic inequality and its relationship to increased coastal flooding caused by global warming for her econometrics research.
Kathleen was actively involved with the Economics Liaison, the Office of Residence Life, and volunteered as a college mentor with SWSG. Kathleen also worked at Harvard T.H. Chan in the department of Global Health and Population and hopes to continue working in the realm of global health and development.
We wish you all the best, Kathleen.

Today, Olivia Hamilton is our graduate of the day from Simmons University!
Olivia, who is receiving a BA in Economics at Simmons University with minors in Public Policy and Sustainability, is originally from Sunapee, New Hampshire.
After graduation, she’ll be working as an analyst for Key Bank Real Estate Capital. In her time at Simmons, she studied abroad in Italy, served on the Economics Liaison Executive Board, and completed her capstone on one’s location as a socioeconomic factor of mental health.
This spring she completed her time at Simmons as a part of the Barbara Lee Family Foundation program as an intern in Senator Cynthia S Creem’s office at the Massachusetts State Senate.
Leanne Doherty here. I got to know Olivia in our American Public Policy class this fall - what a pleasure it was to have an economist in the room while we discussed various policy decisions. Wishing you all the best, Olivia!

We are back with more posts honoring our graduates. Today, Jenna Clemenzi is our honoree.
Through the Simmons University 3+1 program, Jenna earned a BA in Political Science and minor in Public Policy in 2019 and is now graduating with her Master in Public Policy.
Originally from Danvers, Massachusetts, Jenna served as an AmeriCorps member through Jumpstart. She also co-founded an annual "Fenway to the Fields" volunteer day with the Boston Area Gleaners, bringing students to a local farm to harvest surplus crops for Boston food pantries.
Jenna had internships in Congressman Seth Moulton's District Office and Mass Audubon's Legislative Affairs Office. After graduation she hopes to work in a legislative office or to get involved in a Democratic campaign this summer.
Achieving one degree in three years is quite the accomplishment. Two degrees in four years boggles the mind. Congratulations, Jenna. Can't wait to see what you do next.
