Excel Academy Charter High School is proud to announce its ranking as number 31 in the list of best public high schools in Massachusetts by U.S. News & World Report for 2026-2027. This places Excel Academy among the top 3% of public high schools in the country!

“This data proves that college-level coursework belongs to every student in East Boston and Chelsea, not just some,” said Sarah Stuntz, Excel Academy Charter High School Head of School. “Ninety-four percent of our students take an AP exam, and we rank in the top 20 schools in the state for both College Readiness and state assessment performance. Recognition like this is a wonderful moment for our students and all the staff who show up for them every day."

First Day Checklist!

✅School Uniform: See https://www.excelacademy.org/ma-uniform-policy/ for everything you need to know!

✅Backpack Check: Make sure backpacks are loaded with a water bottle and any outstanding paperwork. Personal stationery like pens and pencils are optional but always great to have on hand!

✅Lunch Plan: Decide if your child is bringing a packed lunch or using the school cafeteria. If packing, try to prep as much as possible the night before.

✅ Know the Route: Chat with your student about how they will get to and from school. Are they walking? Taking a bus? Getting picked up by a car? Should they look for someone at the end of the day? Knowing exactly how they’ll get to school and—more importantly—how they’ll get back to you makes the first day a breeze.
