www.berkleekidsjam.com KidsJam is one of the Red Room @ Cafe 939’s most popular kids programs— a student-inspired, faculty-led workshop that helps to pepper the palates of the future generation of music-lovers. During this weekly workshop, Berklee music education students, led by professors Libby Allison and Charlene Ryan, practice their developing teaching skills in this fun and energetic setting
. Sessions involve singing, dancing, playing instruments, listening, and creating or improvising music. KidsJam sessions are scheduled on Mondays (unless otherwise noted) from 11:00 a.m. (October through April). Sessions are free and they fill up quickly. Our Monday sessions are for children ages 3-5. Q: Can I bring my younger child along, even if they are too young for the program? A: Yes, younger siblings are always welcome to join however, they cannot be registered as a participant. Q: Do the parents/guardians need to stay the duration of the program? A: Yes, we ask that at least one parent/guardian stays with the child the entire program. A: KidsJam does not provide snacks. However, you are welcome to stay for lunch and enjoy the cafe that serves sushi and noodle bowls. Kid-friendly fare is also available. Q: What is the class environment like? A: The environment is very welcoming to all. We encourage each child to explore their creativity through singing, dancing, and learning with instruments. We have about 15-20 children with their parents in the space. There is room in the back for strollers. Q: Are there any forms I need to sign? A: Yes, you will need to sign our KidsJam waiver form and hand it in at the first session you attend. Don't worry if you forget the form because we always have extra copies at each session.
