The 14th Amendment Project: A Participatory Action Research (PAR) with the Student Immigrant Movement (SIM)

The Student Immigrant Movement (SIM) has received a grant from the Sociological Initiatives Foundation (SIF) to research and expand the public narrative of the Student Immigrant Movement (SIM) to U.S.-born children of undocumented immigrants. The project will involve SIM members as co-researchers with a professional researcher to conduct and analyze interviews with U.S.-born children of undocumented immigrants in cities across the United States.

General information

Your voice matters NOW.
Over 340,000 US Born children of mixed status households are born each year. Over 1,000,000 deportations occured under the current administration.
Over 4.3 Million US born children of mixed status households

As states legislatures continue to target children of immigrants across the country we enter a time where it is crucial to have an understanding of what effect US foreign and domestic policies on immigration are having on America's next generation.

Be a part of a participatory action research project and help collect stories of immigrant children. We will analyze the ‘narratives’ from these stories and develop public narrative trainings as part of a larger national movement to protect the rights of young people regardless of their immigration status or the status of their parents.

The interview will last approximately one hour. We are looking for participants ages 16 and up to be interviewed. The criteria is that participants are natural born citizens of the US and have a parent(s) that is or has been undocumented.

If you are a US born child of mixed status family, know someone who is or would like to know more info please contact us at [email protected] of call us at 617.8.30.1813.
