We're seeking proposals for:

🌱 A customized Business Planning Curriculum that will help participants develop lender-ready business plans

🌱 Concept2Pitch, a program designed to help entrepreneurs craft compelling business pitches covering opportunity recognition, marketing, finances, legal structure, and more

The best programs are built with farmers, not just for farmers.

If you have experience in farming, agricultural business development, entrepreneurship education, curriculum design, or rural economic development, we'd love to hear from you.

We talk about entrepreneurship like it’s a dream, but for many it starts somewhere very different.

One of CWE's Central MA Rising Stars was quoted last week:

“We open up businesses out of need. It’s not like we wake up one day and say, I’m going to quit my job to make wigs, or sew clothes, or make cookies,’” said Sheila C**n, a Puerto Rican business owner and mother of seven who opened Hot Oven Cookies in Holyoke in 2016. We do it because we have to feed our kids, and we do it because we have to survive.” (News from the States "I Want a Legacy for My Family", May 14, 2026)

So many small businesses are run by women figuring things out in real time, building something not just out of ambition, but out of necessity.

This is exactly where CWE steps in—providing the training, resources, mentorship, and community that help women turn that moment of necessity into something sustainable, stable, and truly their own.

We celebrate entrepreneurship a lot.

We don’t always talk about this side of it.
