Thank you so much Councilor Worrell for stopping by our office this morning and for all of your support for our middle school students. We are so grateful for your championing of education and your passion for connecting our city’s youth to the education and careers that they can thrive in.

19 Passport to College students from 6 of our Boston Public partner high schools experienced Salem State University firsthand on this field trip.
Most students are Seniors who are considering Salem State but had not yet had the opportunity to see the campus for themselves.
Ash Cruz from Josiah Quincy Upper School had this to say, “I’m thankful for the opportunity the Boston HERC staff gave me!! Visiting Salem State was such a fun experience, allowing me to meet other teens who were interested in the college. This opportunity has helped me move closer and helped me narrow down what college I want to go to in the fall.”

We are so inspired by the Bentley University Non-Profit Society, a club of students who are not waiting until college graduation to begin making a difference. They chose the Boston HERC to be the recipient of their Spring Gala fundraiser this year. This year, 16 Boston HERC Alumni Success students are studying at Bentley, and these funds will help us continue to equip first-generation college bound students to access higher education at institutions across our state and beyond. Thank you Bentley NPS.

We’re excited to share that The Boston HERC received a grant from Sincere Foundation! We’d like to thank Sincere Foundation for recognizing our work to equip first-generation youth to obtain higher education, break the cycle of poverty and become agents of change in their communities. With this generous grant, Sincere Foundation directly supports our mission and impact in the community.
Sincere Foundation has awarded $250,000 in new grants to twenty organizations that address basic needs in Massachusetts communities. With this most recent round of funding, the Foundation reaches a milestone of $1 million awarded to 56 organizations in its three years of operation. We’re honored to be recognized. Sincere Foundation is made possible by the support of Boston-based technology company Sincere Corporation and its family of brands: Punchbowl®, Lovebird®, Timehop®, and Memento®. NEWS: Today, Sincere Foundation announced that we have reached a milestone of $1 million in grants to Massachusetts nonprofits.
"Sincere Foundation is thrilled to reach this million dollar milestone and continue our commitment to support nonprofits across Massachusetts,” said Rebecca Reiner, Executive Director, Sincere Foundation. “In our latest round of grants, we funded more organizations than ever before. These nonprofits do exceptional work to support our most vulnerable communities, and in the face of federal funding cuts, we are proud to help sustain the essential services they provide."

Happy New Year! We’re just 12 hours away from ringing in the new year—and 12 hours from the end of our fundraiser. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far.
We’re so close to the finish line and need just $25,000 more to unlock the full $75,000 matching gift. Every dollar you give in the next 12 hours will be doubled, making your impact go twice as far.
Join us now and support students who are making a meaningful impact in our world today!

We are approaching the end of our fundraiser and we still have a long way to go before reaching our $150,000 goal. We are still $33,500 away from unlocking the full $75,000 match gift given by one of our generous donors! Thank you so much to every person who has given this far, we couldn’t do this work with out you!

With just 14 days left in 2025, we’ve raised $33,000 ($66,000 with our matching gift) toward our $150,000 goal. But here’s what’s at stake: we still have $42,000 to raise in order to unlock the rest of the matching funds waiting to be claimed before December 31st.
Every dollar we leave on the table is a student we can’t support. A textbook we can’t provide. A college visit that won’t happen. A dream deferred.
Right now, your gift goes twice as far:
$25 → $50
$100 → $200
$500 → $1,000
We can’t afford to leave $42,000 unclaimed. Will you help us cross the finish line and ensure every first-generation student gets the support they deserve?
