A beautiful story for Aren, UP Education Network (UAH) and Boston Police Department (Official). We love seeing the community come together and are thrilled to have had the chance to be a part of this exciting time for all!
BPD Story of the Day: BPD Officers Repay Kindness to Bighearted 10 Year-Old Boy from Boston: In the days after Boston Police Officer John Moynihan was shot during a motor vehicle stop on Humboldt Avenue in Roxbury, letters of support & well wishes poured in from all over the country. But, on the local level, there was one kind gesture in particular that really stood out and impressed the officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force, the same unit that Officer Moynihan is a member of.
In the days after the shooting, a young boy accompanied by his mom stopped by the Youth Violence Strike Force to personally deliver a get-well card and balloons for Officer Moynihan. According to the officers, the young boy, 10 year-old Aren, was especially concerned about John and was hoping that the get-well card and balloons would make him feel better. Well, they did.
And, today, in an effort to repay the kindness, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force – upon learning that Aren was participating in National Lemonade Day – stopped by his lemonade stand (located in front of the Stop-n-Shop at 460 Blue Hill Avenue) and made a generous donation. Said one of the officers who wished to remain anonymous: “This kid was there for us and his concern for John really touched us. Honestly, we couldn’t thank him enough, but when we heard about his lemonade stand, stopping by and supporting it was a no-brainer.”
