Stay connected to BC with the Boston College Alumni Association. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle!
Boston College is committed to maintaining and strengthening the Jesuit, Catholic heritage of the University, and especially its commitment to integrating intellectual, personal, ethical, and religious formation; and to uniting high academic achievement with service to others.
Jesuits are active in all aspects of University life. Over 50 Jesuits serve the University as members of the administration, faculty, or staff. Community members also offer Ignatian retreats and spiritual direction to faculty, staff, and students. There are Jesuits from several countries who are studying for graduate degrees or serving as visiting scholars.
Gifts from the Jesuit community have helped establish the Jesuit Institute and the Center for Ignatian Spirituality at Boston College. The Institute sponsors personal research, academic exchange, and collective inquiry about the issues that emerge at the intersection of faith and culture. The Center helps members of the University community to understand and implement Jesuit/Ignatian traditions and promotes conversation among other religious traditions represented at Boston College.
Boston College Alumni Social Media Policy
We've established the following Rules of Etiquette to ensure that the Boston College Alumni page provides a positive experience for all participants. These basic rules will be enforced by the social media manager and the BC Alumni Association staff. To report a concern or possible violation of the rules, please contact the social media manager at [email protected].
Be Respectful
You should feel free to discuss topics and disagree with one another, but please be respectful of others' opinions. Sexist, racist and other discriminatory or derogatory comments or images are not permitted. In addition, do not post content that defames, abuses, or threatens others. Such communications will be removed at the moderators' discretion.
Keep it Clean
Avoid offensive, obscene, or sexually explicit language and photos. Such posts will be removed. Also, do not post content that advocates illegal activity or that infringes another's intellectual property, including, but not limited to, copyrights or trademarks.
Stay on Topic
Some discussions may drift from the stated subject of that particular forum. However, to ensure maximum benefit for everyone, we encourage you to keep your postings as relevant to the subject as possible. Comments that are unrelated to the original post may be deleted. Posts including but not limited to commercial or promotional material that are not related to Boston College may be deleted, and the users who posted them removed or banned.
Don't Spam
Spam includes sending identical and irrelevant or unsolicited submissions to many different users, and includes misrepresenting the source of anything you post. Please refrain from posting unsolicited advertisements that do not pertain directly to the intended use and purpose of that particular discussion forum.
Thank you for following these Rules of Etiquette. We reserve the right to amend or change the Rules of Etiquette at any time and encourage you to periodically review these guidelines to ensure you are in compliance.
