Every child is a musician — including the students most music curricula leave behind. Written by working adaptive music teachers Jon Burgos and Jessica Corwin, We Are All Musicians is a classroom-tested collection of 25 original, imaginative, song-based activities that bring disabled children — including nonspeaking, autistic, and physically disabled students with complex support needs — into the full, joyful experience of making music together.
This is a practical activity collection, not a textbook. The activities are appropriate in both sub-separate and inclusion classrooms with mixed student profiles, preschool through fifth grade and can also be used in home and music therapy settings. Each song comes with a clear classroom format, suggested adaptations, and extension ideas. Grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), every activity offers multiple access points that remove barriers and meet each learner where they are.
Each purchase of a spiral-bound physical book includes online access to ready-to-print choice boards and choice cards, visual aids, color-coded alternate music notation, demonstration and discussion videos, downloadable visual-schedule icons, and recorded accompaniments. The collection is also available in an all-digital form. Every song, illustration, and digital resource was created by independent artists and educators without the use of AI. This appears to be the first published music activity collection to pair original songs with ready-to-print choice boards.
