Celebrating 110 Years of Impact

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible impact of Boston University Summer Term—a tradition of excellence for 110 years!
This year, thousands of learners participated in BU’s Summer Term, generating more than 12,500 course registrations.

✅ BU students enrolled to meet degree requirements, pursue additional fields of study, and stay on track for degree completion.
✅ Visiting students discovered our world-class curriculum and vibrant campus.
✅ International scholars enriched BU's academic community through teaching and scholarly exchange.
✅ Professionals advanced their careers with new skills and certifications.
✅ Over 1,300 high school students participated in pre-college programs, exploring BU, conducting research, and maturing into future leaders.

BU Summer Term enriches the lives of students from all backgrounds while creating opportunities for hundreds of faculty and teaching assistants, advancing BU’s mission as a leading research institution in the heart of Boston.

From academic growth to global exploration, Summer Term changes lives - and we’re proud of the work we do and the impact we’ve made over the years.

We love partnering with other university departments to ensure students understand how taking summer classes can strengthen their academic success plan. Today we had an opportunity to do just that at the annual SPF Summer Opportunities webinar, where we joined six incredible teams—UROP, Sankofa Scholars/Upward Bound, Center for Career Development (CCD), CAS Experiential Learning Connector (CAS-EL), Orientation/Dean of Students Office (DOS), and Study Abroad—to share ways students can make the most of their summer at BU!
