As ISA draws closer, we wanted to share some history behind the traditional dances that we’re bringing to the stage. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve prepared! 🤗

We are excited to announce BUFSA’s 26th annual cultural show, ISA: The World Is One, on March 22nd!

This year’s theme is bago, which translates to “new” in Tagalog. We hope to create a new show that represents the rebirth of BUFSA while paying respects to those who came before us.

The Narra tree is a national symbol in the Philippines, representing the resilience and strength of the Filipino diaspora. Declared the national tree in 1934 by Governor-General Frank Murphy, the Narra tree truly embodies those who identify with Filipino culture.

For BUFSA, the Narra symbolizes the strength of the community we’ve built, and the strength of the roots that were planted in the past. The 26th annual ISA will create new branches while still being tightly connected to our roots.
