I’ve been working on this new project which feels incredibly meaningful and helping me heal as I mourn the loss of my friend. It's a story about a dog's journey from a difficult start in a puppy mill to finding a loving forever home. This book explores themes of building confidence, trust, and navigating loss. It has been a truly healing and cathartic experience for me. The story centers around Cammie, a special girl dog I first introduced in chapter 7 of my nonfiction debut book Being A Good Dog In The Human’s World. This book is fictional but she and the spirit this book captures about her is very real. Over the four years I spent with her and her family, they all became very dear to me, and each time I revisit her story, I feel her presence and remember the special bond we shared.My hope is that this book about Cammie's journey will offer comfort and healing to anyone, young or old, who is grieving their loved one.🤍
