The K-16 Education outreach Program is part of Boston University’s African Studies Center, established in 1953 as an interdisciplinary teaching and research center. We have one overarching priority–to promote teaching Africa in U.S. We aim to help make the work of teachers easier while also encouraging the incorporation of African and African-related studies in every classroom. Are you teaching in

the Boston area? Visit us at the Teaching Africa Library, a multifaceted collection of literature for young and adult readers, recommended textbooks for various levels of learners, hard-to-find award winning African films, and material culture kits.
