Are you looking to make a difference in the BU arts community and gain hands-on leadership experience?

This is your chance! Whether you're an artist or have an appreciation for the arts, this is an opportunity to engage, collaborate, and help bring the arts to life at BU.

We're accepting applications on a rolling basis for our 2026/2027 Student Advisory Council. This is a volunteer role with a commitment of 1-5 hours a week. We’re looking for students to help shape the arts on campus, build community, and create memorable experiences for fellow Terriers.

Only one week left to visit the Sherman Gallery to see The Trail is Calling!. This exhibition features a selection of submissions from the BU Global Program Photo Contest, captured by BU students, faculty, and staff during their travels around the world.

On view through Friday, October 16th. Afterward, the exhibition will continue at the Howard Thurman Center.

Join the BU Office for the Arts for an acapella performance by the BU Allegrettos at the beautiful Dahod Family Alumni Center at the Castle. The Allegrettos are Boston University’s all-gender a ca****la group. Founded in 1994, the group records music and competes in competitions such as the ICCAs. The Allegrettos have had the privilege of performing in many places, including Boston, New York, Connecticut, and the White House! This event is free, but space is limited, so registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.

The BU Art Market is returning this spring, and we’re looking for BU students, alumni, faculty, and staff to apply to be vendors and sell or trade their creations!

Join us on Friday, October 30th, anytime from 12- 5 PM to celebrate creativity and the revival of artistic exchange at Boston University. This community event unites creative forces across Boston University to showcase and exchange paintings, prints, trinkets, upcycled clothing, one-of-one items, photography, poetry, and more.

Meet Katelyn, our returning office assistant! ✨

“Hello! My name is Katelyn Holland, I have been with BU OFTA my entire experience at BU so far, and am excited to be back as a senior! As an advertising major (COM) with a minor in visual art (CFA) as well as innovation & entrepreneurship (QST), I am passionate about keeping critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity thriving in our communities, and more selfishly perhaps, things that look good. As an artist myself beyond my design work, I specialize in ink, charcoal, pencil, and I would say that I roughly go through a pack of sharpies per month. This past summer I had been working on a giant mural for an elementary school part of the Boston Public Schools network, which is still in progress. Feel free to reach out with anything, and stay tuned with my work and mural journey on my art account! Katelyn Holland on Instagram.”

This is Katelyn’s fourth year as our Office Assistant, and she is a superstar in our office supporting the Office for the Arts in numerous ways! To name a few, Katelyn provides support with programming, creating graphics, updating the weekly arts newsletter, among other marketing and communication tasks. We’re glad to have you back, Katelyn!

Meet Sylvester, our 2026/2027 Graphic Designer! ✨

"Hello! I’m Sylvester Qifrey Leonard (he/they). I’m from Lake Oswego, Oregon, and am currently a first-year undergraduate in Theatre Design, Production, and Management. I consider myself a multi-artist with many artistic endeavors I enjoy, such as playing bass (upright and electric!) and photography, but I tend to do a lot of designing/digital art.

I’m very excited to be working with BU Office for the Arts as a graphic designer! As someone who is very, very passionate about the arts, I’m looking forward to encouraging engagement with the arts and BU OFA’s opportunities through striking, thoughtful, and creative graphics!"
