Happy National Volunteer Appreciation Week!🎉

Boston Debate League volunteers are amazing and we are so excited to be celebrating them this week. Each of our volunteers, judges and operations, play a key role in our debate community. From supporting debaters to helping with the behind the scenes at tournaments, your time, commitment, and energy to the league does not go unnoticed. ✨

This past season, we welcomed 480 volunteers who contributed to more than 3,500 hours of service—an incredible reflection of your dedication and impact. As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we’re grateful for all you’ve made possible and excited to continue this work together in the season ahead.

Boston Debate friends, last week we shared that two of our amazing debaters from Boston Latin Academy, Alana Laforest and Ava Levine-Fried, had qualified to the Tournament of Champions—recognized as the most rigorous competition in the global high school speech and debate community. It's only the second-ever time a Boston Debate League team has had this opportunity in the organization's 20-year history.

Now we're asking for YOUR support to get them there! We're looking to raise $10,000 by April 10th to cover all costs associated with competition. Help Alana and Ava make Boston Debate League history!

For the Fall only: undergrad college students, Spanish-speaker volunteers, law school students, and BDL Alum are eligible for a small stipend from us. Those seeking volunteer hours are not eligible.
