The beginning of the semester means a NEW set of opportunities, deadlines, workshops, meetings, and moments to keep moving toward your goals!

September is going to be a BIG month for McNair, so make sure you’re checking your calendars, reading your emails, and staying on top of those deadlines.

Our Class of 2026 is making history, and we want to take a moment to truly celebrate what this means.

Collectively, our scholars have earned an extraordinary $248,932.28 in scholarships and fellowships to support their pursuit of graduate and doctoral education. This is not just a number; it represents opportunities created, doors opened, and futures expanded through hard work, mentorship, and intentional support.

Each of these awards reflects countless hours of research, writing, presenting, applying, and persevering. It reflects students who have pushed through barriers, navigated rigorous academic expectations, and committed themselves to advancing knowledge in their fields. It also reflects the strength of programs designed to support first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students as they move toward graduate and doctoral pathways.

This level of success does not happen by accident. It is the result of dedicated scholars who believed in what was possible for themselves, faculty and staff who invested in their growth, and a community that continues to affirm that talent exists everywhere, even if opportunity does not.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also recognize what it represents for the future: more scholars entering PhD programs, more voices contributing to research and innovation, and more representation in spaces where decisions are made and knowledge is produced.

We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 for what they have achieved, and even more excited for what comes next. This is only the beginning of the impact they will make.

Congratulations to the inaugural cohort of Certified McNair Faculty Mentors at Suffolk University! 🎉👏

This semester, faculty participants completed the brand-new McNair X CTSE Faculty Mentor Development Program, a collaborative initiative between the TRIO McNair Scholars Program and the Center for Teaching & Scholarly Excellence (CTSE) focused on inclusive mentorship, advocacy, belonging, resilience, and supporting first-generation and low-income students through research and graduate school preparation.

Participants who completed the program earned their official McNair Faculty Mentor digital badge, sponsored by the Office of the Provost, and joined a growing community committed to mentorship excellence and student success.

We are so grateful for your dedication to our scholars and cannot wait to continue this initiative in the Fall and Spring semesters!

Our McNair Scholar Soirée was filled with so much love, joy, pride, and gratitude as we celebrated the brilliance, resilience, and heart of our students. To witness their growth, their accomplishments, their confidence, and the community they’ve built together is something I’ll never take for granted.

. It changes lives, opens doors, creates belonging, and reminds students that they are worthy of every dream they dare to chase.

We are so deeply grateful for this community and for every student who trusts us to walk alongside them in their journey. What a privilege it is to do this work. ✨
