The Meisner Foundation Training is a systematic, one-year training in Meisner technique. Classes meets twice a week for 38 training weeks, beginning mid-September.

You'll acquire the foundation of a dependable craft based in authentic human action. You'll learn to use yourself as an instrument for creative acting. You'll develop a keen sense of truth, emotional vulnerability, and the instinct to produce spontaneous, compelling behavior necessary to success at the highest professional levels.

Founding director and master teacher Scott Fielding leads the studio’s core programs in Meisner and Chekhov. His creative work across multiple disciplines is deeply informed by thirty-five years’ experience with Michael Chekhov’s visionary creative perspective. Scott is a member of long-standing on the faculty of the Michael Chekhov Association (MICHA). His more than twenty years’ teaching Meisner is grounded in the training he received at William Esper Studio where, after graduating the two year program, he also completed a third year of advanced training with Mr. Esper.

He’s been on the faculties of New England Conservatory (Graduate Opera Studies Program), Emerson College and Tufts University, California State and Northeastern Illinois Universities; and he’s given workshops at NYU, Yale and internationally, particularly across the capital and major cities of the former Yugoslavia.

As a director, his international productions (Belgrade, Bosnia, Zagreb, Ljubljana) have been awarded; in the United States, he’s produced acclaimed work in New York, Chicago and Washington DC.
