Last week, Local 550 proudly took part in the United Association’s 41st General Convention, where delegates from across the United States and Canada gathered to plan the direction of the UA for the next five years.

Congratulations to Business Manager Peter Gibbons for being elected as UA Vice President for District 1 – a post he has held since 2021. It is important for our membership to have a member of Local 550 representing us in the discussions and decisions shaping the future of our union and industry.

We were also well-represented by Organizer Matt Jones, who was appointed by UA General President McManus to the Sergeant-at-Arms Committee for the Convention.

Strong representation matters. Local 550 has leaders actively taking part at the highest levels of the UA, so our members' voices and priorities can be heard.

Congratulations to Peter, Matt, and everyone who represented Local 550 at the UA’s 41st General Convention!

Annual testing complete for Terminal E of Logan Airport. Our pumper truck was on site helping fill the roadway fire protection systems as part of the testing process.

With great sadness we share the news of the passing of Brother James Carter Jr. Brother Carter was a life member with 51 years of service to our local Union. He will be greatly missed. Keep him and the entire Carter family in your thoughts & prayers. RIP Brother Carter.

Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 550 Delegates are attending the 41st UA Convention in San Diego this week. The direction of the UA for the next 5 years will be decided this week. Our elected delegates are proudly representing our union and its members.

QSSBTC Members Night hosted at 550’s training center next Wednesday, 8/12 from 5-7pm. Mayors from Braintree, Quincy & Weymouth will be there as well as several other local and state elected officials. We will be discussing the use of PLA’s on public projects in these communities. All are welcome to attend, especially those who live on the south shore. Hope to see you there.
