If your group is mostly non-Asian, expect to have many Chinese people stare
at you! This will happen less in the bigger cities but may happen at some of the main tourist sites
where there are Chinese people from other parts of China who are on vacation too and are not used
to seeing foreigners (they may even have never seen a non-Asian person). Staring is not
considered rude in China in this case and it is out of curiosity more than anything else. For many folks hailing
from rural parts of China, the only foreigners they have seen have been in advertisements or on TV...imagine if
you saw a celebrity on the street, you would probably stare at them too!
