💜 September is Recovery Month.

As we recognize this month and reflect on International Overdose Awareness Day (8/31), we honor the strength, resilience, and courage of individuals in recovery — and remember those whose lives have been impacted by overdose.

St. Franics House believes recovery is possible when people have access to compassionate, trauma-informed support and the resources they need to move forward. In FY26, more than 1,000 guests utilized our recovery-focused services, finding connection, support, and opportunities to build a healthier, more stable future.

Thank you to the incredible volunteers who helped make 41 LaGrange St, our brand-new housing initiative, feel like home before residents even moved in. 💙

This summer, volunteers from the Planning Office for Urban Affairs, Rockland Trust, Citizens Bank, Public Consulting Group (PCG), Liberty Mutual Insurance, Eastern Bank, HarbourVest, the Mayor’s Office of Housing, Life Science Cares, and State Rep. Haggerty’s Office rolled up their sleeves to help prepare brand-new apartments for move-in.

This new 126-unit community will provide a mix of affordable and market-rate housing, including permanent supportive housing for individuals moving out of homelessness. Every detail you helped prepare represents more than a new apartment.

We’re so grateful for the time, energy, and heart you brought to this important milestone. Thank you for helping us turn houses into homes and making the vision of 41 LaGrange a reality. 🏠💙

A fresh pair of socks may seem like a small thing. But for someone experiencing homelessness, it can provide much-needed comfort and relief. That’s why we’re so grateful to Bombas for donating more than 1,000 pairs of socks to help support our guests at St. Francis House. 💙

Socks help protect foot health, reduce the risk of injury and infection, provide comfort during long days on foot, and restore a sense of dignity that everyone deserves.

Thank you, Bombas, for helping us meet one of our community’s most essential needs and for making a meaningful difference — one pair of socks at a time. 🧦

🍽️ The Ride & Stride for Food, hosted by Three Squares New England, is more than a fundraiser. It's a movement to help ensure our neighbors have reliable access to nutritious meals. So why are we riding?

For Kati Sigel, our Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations, the answer is simple:

"I'm riding to support the meal program at St. Francis House because it's hard to tackle life's challenges when you're hungry. Together, we can help fill plates—and bellies."

Every day, St. Francis House serves nearly 500 guests, providing nutritious meals that offer not only nourishment, but stability, dignity, and hope. When you join or support Team SFH in this year's Ride & Stride for Food, you're helping ensure that every guest who walks through our doors has access to a warm meal when they need it most.
