The Child Cognition Lab is located in Boston University's Department of Psychology and directed by Professor Deborah Kelemen. Since 2000, families from the Boston area have been helping us answer questions about children's development and learning. We love meeting new families, and those who visit our lab have a great time participating in our studies because they are designed as fun games. Appoin

We are excited to announce that two of our undergraduate research assistants- Lily Russo (2022) and Jensine Phillips (2022) both successfully presented at the UROP poster session last week! The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program offers a stipend to undergraduate students who participate in a research project under a faculty member. We are so proud of the hard work Lily did on the evolving minds project and Jensine did on Lizette’s Earth Agency project this summer! We'd also like to take the time to acknowledge two of our former lab members and see where they are now!
Manuela Benitez de la Cruz worked in our lab starting in 2019 and was deeply involved in Lizette’s Earth Agency research. In particular, Manuela helped with the data collection and qualitative coding for the earth agency study. She is currently an undergraduate psychology student at the University of Surrey in the UK.
Emma Pitt was a longtime lab manager, and she had a hand in every project over the last 3 years. In particular, Emma was instrumental in the speciation storybook study, teacher professional development study, and our research on anchoring phenomena. Emma started a PhD program at Northeastern University this fall. We wish her the best and are so grateful for her contributions over the last few years!
Update on crowdfunding: we have sent out another round of books to everyone that's asked for them and are happy to report that out storybooks are helping children learn about biological concepts at home and in schools during this difficult time! We are still taking orders on our website, or through this link: https://www.evolvingmindsproject.org/teaching-materials
