Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

We loved watching you leave it all on the field—and on the river! Your impact extended well beyond the crew team and was felt throughout the Gonzaga community.

We are especially proud to hear two crew team members, Peter Francese and Nicholas Fletcher, speak about brotherhood and teamwork in Gonzaga’s historic three-way-tie valedictorian speeches. We have had the privilege of watching this class embody those values over the past four years.

Congratulations, and best of luck in all that lies ahead!

See you in November at the Alumni Row! 💜🦅

This past weekend, 11 Gonzaga Rowing alumni competed at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship Regatta at Lake Natoma in Gold River, California. We could not be more proud of them and the wonderful ambassadors they are of Gonzaga Rowing.

As we bring our season to a close this evening with our banquet, we celebrate Diego Mateo Velasquez Frias, our final senior spotlight, who is an ideal teammate with a heart as big as his name is long, always seeking improvement, never complaining, and somehow always pushing through arm pain with a smile.

A WMIRA medalist, Diego is headed to Georgetown University to study Pre-Med/Psychology. Congratulations, Diego!

We are excited to return to our senior celebrations with Michael Popil, “Popil Run!” In one word, Michael is balance. Beastly strong yet super flexy. Comically jovial yet deadly serious. It’s like if Hulk Hogan was secretly a ballerina.

A 3-time WMIRA medalist, a HOTO medalist, 3-time Stotesbury bronze medalist, and SRAA silver medalist, Michael is headed to Colorado School of Mines to study mechanical engineering. Congratulations, Michael!
