The Ulaanbaatar Green Affordable Housing Project, implemented by the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar and financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will consist of around 700 rental and rent-to-own affordable housing units that integrate high energy efficiency and green building standards.
Along with our local partner ICON Consulting, we're developing an institutional capacity development program for NOSK, the municipal company who will manage the project upon completion, to ensure that it can successfully manage the project as well as future affordable and green housing projects in Ulaanbaatar.
Earlier this month, AHI's Larry English and Sara Veronesi met with NOSK and other key stakeholders in Ulaanbaatar's housing sector, including the Housing Policy Agency, the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development, and the Mongolia Green Building Council.
Now, we're finalizing our assessment of NOSKโs current capacity building and training needs and developing a tailored program to ensure successful implementation of this project and future affordable and green housing.
