"Considered one of the most preeminent jazz artists of all time, and one of the most influential musical artists of any genre, John Coltrane has truly played a part in shaping the music of today. Coltrane: Legacy for Orchestra is a new live concert experience re-framing some of John Coltrane’s most popular and influential works with lush orchestrations, accompanied by exclusive and recently exhibited personal photographs of John Coltrane."

A tribute to our dear friend and long-time colleague Eric Jackson will be taking place next weekend at the GBH Studios. Below is the text of an announcement, posted by Mary C. Curtin, regarding an opportunity for musicians to participate in a Second Line procession, that will take place before the concert. Rest in power ... and in peace, Eric. We miss you so much.

"This announcement recently came through, via JazzBoston, for local musicians, who can be mobile while playing:
Second Line for Eric Jackson:
If you were unable to get in-person reservations before they filled up for "PEACE: The Concert for Eric Jackson" at GBH on Sunday April 30th at 4pm, there is still a way for you to attend in person. There will be a second-line procession at the beginning of the event. We will play "Just a Closer Walk With Thee" in Bb, followed by "Down By the Riverside", also in Bb.
