Read & Write with Aashna, Boston, MA (2026)

Read & Write with Aashna is the second-annual free program to provide 1:1 reading and writing lessons to kids aged 5-10 years old, helping them to become better readers and writers while socially distanced.

Hello folks! I am Yogita Miharia, Aashna's mother.

I am sharing this post without her approval because you never know how a teenager would react to their mom butting in 😆 But mama bear that I am, I wanted to share my thoughts and feelings 🥰

This was Aashna's second summer of Read & Write with Aashna, and she worked with over 40 students once again. Every class was 1:1, and she did multiple classes with every kid. I have seen her work very hard, putting her heart and soul in the program, not only when she is teaching but outside of it when she prepares meticulously for every lesson, right from scheduling to planning.

I would like to thank all the parents that put their trust in Aashna for coaching their children. Aashna loves each of them and often told me stories of their cuteness.

I love seeing your messages and notes of appreciation. And my heartfelt thanks to so many of you who sent her gifts as tokens of appreciation. It is a free program, but who doesn't love a gift that originates from love and appreciation? That acknowledgement makes her feel so good of her work.

I just want to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of my daughter. Where most teenagers spend their summers goofing around, she spent volunteering. In addition she attended 2 prestigious, highly selective summer programs including the school of New York Times. As she is working on helping others read and write, she is also working on herself as a writer and thinker.

Hi everyone! Earlier today, every open spot in Read & Write with Aashna was filled. I also have a substantial waitlist thus far, so any spots that open up will get filled immediately.

Feel free to still email me if you would like to be put on the waitlist. Or, if you would like to ask me any questions about reading, writing, book recommendations, etc., don't hesitate to reach out!

In the meantime, please keep an eye out for this FB page, as I will post new updates when they come.

Introducing: Read and Write with Aashna

Hello, everyone! I'm so excited to resume my summer program "Read with Aashna" from 2020 and expand it to be "Read and Write with Aashna" this year!

Do you have a child between the ages of 5 to 10 years old? Would you like them to improve their reading or creative writing skills? If yes, please read further...

My name is Aashna and I am a rising junior at Wi******er High School. I am a passionate reader who wants to dedicate my summer vacation to helping young kids find the same joy in reading that I do. Since last running this successful program, I have become a published author of the middle-grade novel "In Their Heads," of which over 150 copies have been sold! I am also a Senior Journalist on Wi******er High School's newspaper and have volunteered at Wi******er Public Schools summer reading programs geared for first and second graders.

For children ages 5-7, I will be running "Read with Aashna" to help strengthen their reading comprehension. For children ages 8-10, I will be running "Write with Aashna" to practice crucial creative writing skills that have helped me become successful thus far.

Please note that these reading/writing classes are FREE and will be 1:1 over Zoom. Spots are limited and are given on a first come, first serve basis, so sign up quickly!

"Read with Aashna" program started at the beginning of summer 2020 and spots filled up in a matter of couple of days!

Aashna is currently serving over 40 students. At present, we have a waitlist and will be happy to add your child to it.
We are still deciding if and how the program will continue during the school year. Please stay tuned.
