Modern Taekwondo Center, established in 2009, is a martial arts school dedicated to building a strong community of black belts, one student at a time. Success.

Modern Taekwondo Center (MTC) is dedicated to improving the community through the martial arts, by inspiring committed athletes to focus on their education and proper physical development: creating champions both in life and on the mat. We provide age appropriate martial arts-based programming for girls and boys of all ages. Training at Modern Taekwondo Center (MTC) offers these benefits and more.

The medals and smiles reflect the pride of achievement, but the real victory is who these students are becoming.

At yesterday’s MA State Tournament, our athletes delivered strong performances and qualified for Nationals. But what stood out most, and what we were personally complimented on again, was their respect, composure, and the way they supported one another throughout the day.

As a parent, those are the moments that matter. The confidence to step forward, the discipline to stay focused, and the character to represent themselves well in any room.

That’s what we work on every day.

The best part of our Tigers class is seeing their big smiles and growing confidence after they try something new and cheer each other on 🐯

Graduating together.
Training together.
Different paths, one standard.
Consistent effort. Mutual respect.
This is our community.

The Milton Public Library is an absolute gem.

Before my family moved to Milton more than 10 years ago, I heard two things about the Town: Fruit Center Marketplace was a great grocery store and the Milton Public Library children’s librarian (now assistant director) was phenomenal.

They were absolutely right.

Over the years, the library has been so much more than a place to borrow books. It has been a place where my husband has gone to work when our internet was down; where my sons, as toddlers, loved visiting the fish in the children’s room; where they took chess lessons in their early elementary years; and where they now discover books their friends are reading or check out video games. This past summer, my older son became old enough to use the teen room, and he was so excited that he regularly biked to the library with a backpack, eager to carry home the stacks of books he had checked out.

For these reasons and many more, I’m proud to be running for Library Trustee to help ensure our library continues to thrive, evolve, and serve the needs of everyone in Milton.

This is what progress often looks like. Quiet, focused, and consistent.

Flexibility work builds more than range. It develops patience, awareness, and control, qualities that carry into every part of training.

Ms. Caitlyn, a senior at Boston Latin School, has shown what that consistency looks like over time. We’re proud of the standard she sets.

We are very proud of this group and how they have shown up for each other. This moment, captured here, represents the hard work, discipline, and hours of focused effort in the dojang.

The commitment required to stand on the mat at the United States Performance Center reflects the disciplined foundation we build with our students, preparing them for the pursuit of excellence.

Discipline is built in the quiet moments.

Here, the students are simply holding a position together, learning how to stay focused even when it gets uncomfortable.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Master Gomes! 🎉

This week we celebrate Master Fredson Gomes, the heart and visionary leader behind MTC for the past 16 years!

His patience, passion, and genuine care have shaped our dojang into a place where students grow not just as martial artists, but as people.

Master Gomes inspires through action… teaching with kindness, leading with passion, and always taking the time to truly see and support everyone who steps in the dojang.

Thank you for all you give to your students and your family every day. 💕

Please join us in wishing Master Gomes a very Happy Birthday!🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎂🎂🎂
