🎊 🎂 Happy 5th Birthday my Finny boy! 🎉 🎈
I don’t always know how I’m doing in this whole parenting thing, but I do know how fortunate I am to have this amazing child in my life. ❤️ You cranked out those first four years, and I know there are exciting things to come in year 5! You deserve every ounce of love that you get. Love you Finner ♥️

Your 4-year-old gets stung by a bee one time (he was 1) and this becomes his “favorite thing about spring”.

No long-winded parenting post here, just an acknowledgement that parenting is one of the most (if not THE most) selfless role that you take on. It will never come without its own frustrations and stress. 🤯 😤 Fortunately, there are these unique moments that help you remember how important you are to them and that they are doing their best. The moment may last only a couple of minutes but the frustrations and stress just so happen to melt away during that time. ❤️ Winn Winn

Once a dream to work from home became mandatory, I was forced to realize yet again that the fantasy in my head was much more cushy than reality.
☀️🌈🦄
I have struggled in a real way over the past couple years with the same self-management skills that I’ve made a living coaching people on. There are most definitely ebbs and flows to how it’s going, but seeing clients in person was my office, my structure, my way to physically and mentally separate work and life.
🤪💼
“Just go to a coffee shop” went from, not possible to not comfortable (Covid-related reasons) and I developed some habits that made these simple decisions much harder, therefor much easier to stay home (and debate between completing house project tasks or tasks to keep a business running).
🏃
Today was a tough yet necessary reminder that making a decision takes a fraction of a second, but the analyzing that goes into that decision can take hours or even days. Many people, just like me, get stuck in the “analyzing” form of focus and it can have a major downside if you stay there too long. Today, I decided on working outside of the house, wrote it down in my daily to-do list, chose the time I would go, and what I would do there. I even pictured the place and what I would eat (don’t normally do this step). The mental rehearsal and getting it in goal form helped prevent me from over-analyzing and talking myself out of it.
👍 ✔️
No step is too small, no task is too simple, and comfort can be found in many places outside your home.

To our dearest Miss Bipsy (or Mrs., you could be married in the doggie world and I would have no clue),
🐕 💍
Your energy to play fetch, cat-like behaviors, odd bird sounds, taking our freshly washed clothes on the bed and making a cocoon to lay in, your awkward love for Finn, face licks, and excitement to see us every single day is inspiring and does not go unseen.
🐶 ❤️
Happy 9th birthday to our amazing lil pup! Love you Bippers!

This little man is 2 years old today. When I asked my guy friends about being “ready” to be a Dad they said “your never going to be fully ready”. It was just as true then as it is now, but that is the greatness in being a Dad. We have an amazing child who reminds me that I can’t be ready for everything as much as I’d like to be. You keep me on my toes and sometimes heels kiddo and I love you so much for it. Happy birthday Finn Philip, Daddy loves you so much.

Sometimes buying books for your kid is more about your own childhood.

Our little Finn starts daycare today. After an entire 20 months of basically having him home and all to ourselves, I’m gonna miss the little guy when I come up from the basement for lunch or just to be able to say hi. Lots of love today Finn!

Please don’t bite, get kicked out, or decide after day 1 that “this isn’t for you”. K love you kiddo!
