Journalism Workshop
Does your child want to feel like a journalist and a publisher and win the prize? Shaloh House has a solution!
Shaloh House is proud to announce an after-school Journalism Workshop for students ages 7-14. Classes are open to the community.
At the end of the school year, students will walk away with a published Jewish Cookbook with their articles and photos and newfound knowledge of how to be a robust and exciting writer. The cookbook will contain recipes the older generation will share with children through one-on-one interviews. The Workshop includes two cooking sessions at the Shaloh House kosher kitchen. The project will foster children’s interest in the stories of the lives behind the recipes and respect for the older generation.
On top of that, Shaloh House will choose the best article, and a winner will get up to 50% of the cost of the Jewish summer camp from a selected list of camps, with a maximum award of $5,000.
Workshop cost: $200 for 20 sessions, October 2023-May 2024.
Time: Tuesdays, 4-5 pm ages 7-11; 5-6 pm, ages 12-14.

Step 1: Take your child’s photo next to the Calendar wall on the 1st floor, post it on your page and tag “Shaloh House” page, and you will receive a free nylon draw string bag (with some goodies)

Step 3: Anyone who receives 10 or more likes of their child’s photo should email [email protected] before 4 p.m. next Friday (July 28th ) and tell us the number of likes your photo received. The family whose photo gets the most likes wins a $100 tuition credit for Summer Program or School. 2nd prize: $75 tuition credit and 3rd prize: $50 tuition credit.
*Tuition credit may be applied to current balances or future ones, at Summer Program or School*

שלב 1: צלמו את ילדכם ליד לוח תכנית הקיץ בקומה הראשונה, פרסמו את התמונה בעמוד הפייסבוק שלכם ותייגו את עמוד הפייסבוק SShaloh House כל משפחה משתתפת תקבל תיק ניילון עם הפתעות.
שלב 2: סמיינו 'לייק' בעמוד הפייסבוק של ההדף הישראלי- Shaloh House'
שלב 3: כל מי שמקבל 10 לייקים או יותר על התמונה של ילדו צריך לשלוח אימייל למשרד [email protected] עד 4 בצהריים ביום שישי הבא (28 ביולי) ולספר לנו כמה לייקים קיבלה התמונה שלכם. המשפחה שתקבל את מספר הלייקים הכי גבוה תזכה בזיכוי של 100 $ על שכר הלימודים בתוכנית הקיץ או בבית הספר. הפרס השני: 75 $ על שכר הלימודים והפרס השלישי: זיכוי של 50 $ על שכר הלימודים.
