This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the Black servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice for a country that has not always honored their full humanity. We lift up the generations of Black women and families who have served in uniform and on the home front—navigating grief, resilience, and resistance.
As we reflect on their courage, we also recommit to fighting for the dignity and justice they deserved in life. Reproductive justice means ensuring that Black women, birthing people, and families are safe, supported, and sovereign in every space—including the military and beyond.
May their memory be a call to action. May our work be part of their legacy.
