The Olympics are over, but school has just begun.
When the pandemic started and classrooms closed, millions of students lost access to their only guaranteed meals. Now that students are back, it's more important than ever to ensure there are free children around the nation!
Food + nutrition is critical to the success, health and performance of all young people and young athletes. It's up to us to make free school meals for every K-12 student in the U.S. a reality.
Visit schoollunchforall.org for resources + join the movement!
School meals are just as important to students' academic success as textbooks or transportation. Students who are in class hungry because they’re unable to participate in school meals are missing out on the opportunity to learn.
This is why we must ensure every young person in the U.S. has access to free school meals all year around. To learn more about the resources available, check out schoollunchforall.org.

Until 2022, all k-12 students will have access to free school meals, no matter what.
🍎No proof of legal status required.
🍎No applications needed.
🍎No one will be turned away.
We’re working to make this the norm for every school year!

This is HUGE! Students in California now have access to universal school meals year around!
We're excited for this news and we will keep working to make sure every state offers free children.
We did it! 🎉 🎉 🎉 California makes history as the first state to adopt free !
We applaud Gavin Newsom and the State Legislature, especially State Senator Nancy Skinner Assemblymember Kevin McCarty Assemblymember Luz Rivas for championing for our students.
A heartfelt thank you to our community of school nutrition professionals, CSEA, SEIU, the 200 orgs in the coalition, and our fellow co-sponsors the California Association of Food Banks, NextGen California, TomKat Ranch, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond for your advocacy on behalf of CA kids!

On this day in 1946, the National School Lunch Act was created to provide low-cost or free school lunches to qualified students.
Today, 75 years later, we are still trying to make sure every student is fed. Scan the QR code on this poster to find resources of how you or a loved one can get access to free school meals.

For millions of students across the country, school-provided lunches are the only meals they are guaranteed each day. Even though 75% of all school lunches are provided for free or at a reduced price, many of these students are still unable to pay for those meals. Schools have to provide those students with food, but they don’t always have to do it free of charge — and when students can’t afford those meals, their families go into debt.
And while schools are mandated to provide those students with food, there’s no mandate to provide it free of charge. As a result, students across the country are being charged for meals they can’t afford and their families are going into debt.
School Lunch for All is a national campaign to ensure that school meals are provided, free of charge, to every K-12 student in America.
We believe that no student should go hungry at school and that no child or family should experience financial strain, public shame, or debt in exchange for those meals.
