When you think of a partnership between higher education and an embassy, what comes to mind? Some might say political science, international relations, economics...but what about education? Wheelock College, Boston University is proud to work alongside the French Embassy in the U.S. to promote the teaching and learning of French language and culture in schools across our country, as well as English education across France. Happy first of August! This week, we're excited to feature Dr. Eleonora Villegas-Reimers , clinical professor and chair of the Teaching & Learning Department at Wheelock College, Boston University. Dr. Villegas-Reimers is committed to teacher professional development, in part through her partnership work with the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). Most recently, Dr. Villegas-Reimers served as a member of AACTE's Networked Improvement Community (NIC) focused on recruiting more candidates of color into the teaching profession, particularly in special education.
