Wishing a gentle holiday season to all. Our offices will be closed starting today, 12/23 at 1pm and will re-open on Tuesday, 1/3.
The holidays can be a difficult, stressful time for people with chronic pain. Everyone asks about your plans. The media–from commercials to news articles–all focus on the joy of the season with much laughter, travel plans, family gatherings, and fun social events. But for many with chronic pain, the holiday season causes more anxiety and depression because our health sidelines us from joining in the festivities. Our experience shows us that attending holiday activities can exacerbate our pain, making it even more difficult to cope.
Know that you are not alone this holiday season. If you find this time of year to be more challenging and isolating, leave a comment. Reach out to those who understand.
