In December 2020, the Associates was proud to premiere “Giving Voice to the Abolitionists” as part of our Pierce Performance Series. The presentation featured performances by five remarkable students from the Boston Arts Academy sharing letters from the Boston Public Library's Anti-Slavery Collection, originally written by William Lloyd Garrison, Frederick Douglass, Sojourner Truth, Lydia Maria Child, and Amos Augustus Phelps. The video was produced in collaboration with Artists For Humanity.

✔Buy your ticket today for the upcoming Event: Champion Reception on Friday February 4, 2022 at 5:30 pm at the @seeroxburycc Roxbury Community College >

"We realize this is a tough time to decide whether or not to attend an event in person, and whether or not to invite friends! We will be following City of Boston and Roxbury Community College guidelines regarding COVID-19 for the Champion Reception. Face masks will be required for all people over the age of 2 to enter and attend (with allowances when eating or drinking). We are awaiting confirmation from RCC about their vaccination requirements for their reception hall and therefore the Champion Reception – currently, RCC does require proof of vaccination for in person classes, and they are leaning towards requiring proof of vaccination. As soon as we have confirmation, we will circulate an update.

"We are capping the guest list at 150 people, to allow for spacing and selective social distancing. And, as you’ve seen, the students will not be performing in person at the Reception, in following with BPS rules, to keep both the students and our guests as safe as possible. We will see Charlie Baker and Maristela Rapo Giving The Glam, live in person though, along with one of our BAA alum’s bands! And of course, we will present the premiere screening of BAA Rocks! by the BAA students from all majors!

"We are also holding a virtual showing of the student performance, BAA Rocks!, on Saturday, February 5 at 7:30pm. These tickets start at only $10, and are available at the following link:

Yesterday our artists met with Mediahub Worldwide in their Boston HQ to kick off a project we are excited to share with both of our communities! The students have been tasked with conceptualizing, drafting, and pitching sketches for a mural in the Boston office. The painting will be a representation of market research trends done by Mediahub. We hope our art invigorates and brightens the office as people return to in-person work!
